~The author of SECRET WOUNDS is a literary secret worth discovering! A. Life? Who is A. Life? I had not heard of the author before, but the book cover instantly caught my
attention and drew me to the first page of the book. Days later I had finished the novel SECRET WOUNDS AND HIDDEN PAIN, now ready to share with the world the talent that A.
Life possesses.
Definitely a literary secret to most book lovers, this one should be put on your list of must reads in the new year. It has everything that you would expect from a good read:
characters enjoy exploring, a storyline that draws you in and an ending that will have you talking about it to others.
I will be looking for more from this author and doing what I can to introduce her to others along the way. (5 Stars)-Cyrus A. Webb "Conversations Book Club"
~ FREEDOM! If I had to use one word to sum up this book it would be: FREEDOM. After reading Hidden Wounds and Secret Pains you will be free of anything or anyone holding
you back from walking in your destiny. Secret Wounds and Hidden Pain captures an everyday woman who is wearing a mask to cover up her identity. An everyday woman
who loves a man but realizes he is not the one for her. He brings more pain that love and secrets always will come out. An everyday woman who chooses a job to provide for
her children but soon to realize that all money is not good money. This book reminds me of how I felt after I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. I felt liberated- free from
bondage and set free of my past.
It's not a week that goes by that I am not wondering what Charlene, Michelle and Denise are up too? Where are they now? It's a truly powerful book and one of my favorites.
A. Life... penned an exceptional novel! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us with her upcoming novel, My Cup Overflows. (5 Stars)-Victorious Magazine "Brooks J.

~I did find this book to be a long but an interesting read. The characters were well developed. Each one had their own story but each story intertwined. The common thread
was a love for God which was not presented in a manner to turn the reader off. The characters had flaws which made them more realistic to me. The subject of seeking
counseling was also in this book which I think was presented in a positive light. Many people of color do not like the thought of seeking help when they have a problem as
they do not want to be perceived as "crazy". (5 Stars)-African Americans on the Move Book Club, Zandra D. Barnes, AAMBC Reviewer
~"The Great Exchange!" It's funny the things you do for love and masking fear, you will deny yourself, live with your eyes wide shut, go against the norm and against virtually
anything for such a small four letter word. Two words that we forget are not feelings but actions, a demonstration.
We change our whole life for a person believing that he or she is the one.
We mask who we are thinking no one can truly see inside. Believing that you're equally yoked and if you're not you can work it out. FEAR - false evidence appearing real, and
LOVE - a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection and attachment.
Secret Wounds & Hidden Pains introduce us to four women whose lives will be forever changed after a visit to St Michaels' hospital and a visit by an angel named Nurse
Shelly. As the book opens we meet Charlene Brown who is married to a minister and wanna be pastor of Greater St. John's Baptist Cathedral, he emotionally abuses her.
From the outside one would think this is the picture perfect family. Denise McLeod is a single mother of five; surviving on an exotic dancer's salary hiding behind a
pseudonym she calls Caramel Rain. When both of her worlds collide only one will survive. Michelle married Lionel Baker, knowing and being privileged to his abusive ways.
However in her mind she figured if she married him the abuse would stop. The unfortunate truth is it sometimes takes death to end this cycle. Michelle's sister, Katrina
Dangerfield deals with fear that is crippling and stalling her personal life. Katrina will come to understand the by-product of fear and look to the Lord for His redemptive
powers.
Heaven is opened every time we praise the Lord; it took these four women some time before they could get into the presence of God. However when they did an exchange
happened instead of weeping JOY was knocking on the door of their life.
In her latest release A. Life writes a book emotionally charged with a powerful voice. As a reader you will experience along with the characters the healing powers of
forgiveness, reconciliation, redemption and how the "Great Exchange" cannot happen until you remove the mask of your pain. -Missy, Readers Paradise, (5 book marks)
~Secret Wounds & Hidden Pain is a page turner!! I could relate to something in each character which kept my attention throughout. Each woman has such great strength even
when they are in what appears to be a weak stage; they are strong. They each adopted the (black) woman’s motto: We don’t always do what we want to do but we always do
what we have to do. I can hardly wait for the next book A. Life…writes!! –Kim Jackson, BCBS
~Loved, Loved, Loved your book ma. I finished Secret Wounds & Hidden Pain in 4 days; would have been sooner. I was on Chapter 30 on day one. Me and the devil were
having a tug of war because your book was filled with so much anointing that he did not want me to receive, but I was the victor. I loved how you kept the audience
interested in the word as well as the character's stories. I am looking forward to a follow- up novel as well other projects. Keep blessing us. Love ya. -Sincere love and
blessings from Hawaii, Shana Thomas
~It only took me two days to read Secret Wounds & Hidden Pain because I could not put it down. I have nothing but good things to say about this book. It made me laugh and
cry. It was so well written, that you felt as if you knew each character personally. Not only did I like the story, it was also rooted in the word of the Lord. It is not that often that
you find a good book with a Christian message. I think every woman; mother, sister, and cousin should read this book. Not to leave the men out, they could learn a thing or
two from reading this book. Five stars from me. Can't wait for the next one! – Venesha Lankster
