| T.I.R.E.D. OF F.A.T.? (F.rustrating A.dipose T.issue) As a young girl I was always athletic. My build, to say the least, complimented my efforts, but that is in no way an indication that I do not understand what it means to be overweight. In fact, I have been and am still striving for that “perfect” body (if there is one). So many times we struggle with the ideas that society places on the external appearance of our bodies and then find ourselves in unhealthy situations and circumstances. The desire to be “thin” will always be around longer than the desire to be healthy because of our lack of ability to control every area of our life. For this reason, I decided to do something about myself and in turn, help others. I wish I could say I had an Aha! Moment, but I didn't. One day I got up and went walking with a friend and the rest is history. Now if you're thinking “it's not that easy”, or something along those lines, trust me I know. Getting up from the embrace of my bed was extremely difficult at times and I wanted to stop (I think I did a couple of times!), but nevertheless, I pressed on! I figured no one would or could do it for me, so I had to do it myself. My term for this type of frustration was simply; TIRED! I got tired! Tired of being unhappy with my body and Tired of feeling and being unhealthy as well. The list could go on but I did learn, as I pray you do, that you must love yourself for who and what you are, Right Now, and your body will do things for you that you may have never dreamed of. I said all this to say that whatever you desire in life to do or be, YOU CAN with a little bit of discipline. If you're tired of having fat that won't budge, and if you've never exercised before, just get moving Or if you are already working out, step it up! ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE YOU! |
