EboryaHair Care...
As a Contributor to Hair and Beauty magazines; Expo Styles and Dramatic Change, as well as being a
salon owner and operator; I have found that regardless of the professional products recommended
and used; one must be consistent in order to achieve desired results. Since we at Completion,
endeavor to be the best; our decision to use the best products came naturally. And though "the best"
is not the same for everyone, we've found Design Essentials to be the product line that best suits
most, if not all of our clients' hair care needs. If our product of choice is undesirable to you, feel free
to inform us; remember we are partners when it comes to caring for your hair.

Let's take a hair care quiz: Does your hair look and feel like you want it to? Do you ever wish you
had a different grade of hair? Are you doing all that is necessary in order to obtain a desired head of
healthy hair? Whatever your answers, please know that help is within reach and you can achieve
optimal hair care.
First, we must admit to our natural tendency to follow certain expected trends when it concerns our
hair. Fact is, the latest trend should more or less be limited to being the driving force of the fashion
industry rather than the definition for the status of one's hair. While you may be able to don an
outfit within a designated range of sizes, the same does not hold true for hair care. One size does
not fit all and one brand does not work best for every person despite the myriad of marketing claims
to the contrary.
Your stylist's highest priority should be to shop for and utilize products that your hair will "wear"
well. If, however, you have no other choice but to ransack the store shelves, allow me to give you
some practical tidbits of hair care knowledge to ensure your hair is not only healthy, but is also
beautiful.
While your hair should always look and feel it's best, there are many factors that can and often do
leave us with less than positive results. So, if your answer to the first question is “No”, allow me to
identify some possible causes as well as propose a few suggestions to remedy your dilemma:
Dull hair can lead to limp and lifeless hair, which basically means your hair has lost its elasticity,
flexibility, and has little to no strength. In most cases dull hair is the result of a build-up of
shampoos, conditioners, and even particles deposited from hard water. These build-ups can deprive
your hair of the desired bounce and sheen for which you purchased the products in the first place.
Instead, try a shampoo specially designed to remove build-up or you can use equal parts of plain
apple-cider vinegar and water to restore the acid mantle; essential to a healthy scalp and clean,
shiny hair. (To use: Shampoo with the apple-cider solution, allowing enough time to massage well
into your scalp. Thoroughly rinse your hair then condition. Repeat process every two weeks.) The
loss of elasticity, flexibility, and strength can be corrected, and in some cases prevented altogether.
If your hair appears limp or flat shortly after it is cleansed, make sure you are utilizing the proper
tools ( i.e. detangling combs, etc.) and use styling products in moderation. If you use a commercial
conditioner that contains a fabric softener such as stear alkonium chloride or some other quaternary
ammonium compound, this too, will cause your tresses to lay flat, destroying your hair's natural
body. Instead, choose a shampoo that has a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 that contains protein to re-infuse
strength.
If you answered “Yes” to the second question, let me first apologize to you for any and everyone
who has ever lied to you claiming it is possible to change the grade of your hair. (LOL!) What God
gave you by way of genetic heredity at birth is what you will ultimately be laid to rest with.
However, with proper care and treatment, your texture can be temporarily changed via conditioning
treatments, relaxers, heated styling tools, etc. Be sure to consult your Stylist!!
Finally, if you are not doing all you need to do in order to obtain a desired head of healthy hair,
chances are you already know what to do to correct the situation. In short, maintaining a healthy
lifestyle, which includes a proper diet and nutrition, is critical to beautiful hair. Even if you have
poor eating habits, if you will use hair nutrients and follow some general guidelines, you can keep
your hair in great condition! Excellent hair care is a goal you can achieve if you will look at hair care
